About eGRS

The eGRS portal allows you to manage your thesis professionally. It provides a place to store your thesis and data safely. To enter the Plone site, log in (see the top right hand log in). Once logged in you can:

  • Upload draft chapters of your thesis, documents, data, photos, etc.
  • Store uploaded documents and data securely for your private use, and
  • Share your information with specific people such as your supervisors.

Other Areas of eGRS

  • Useful Software: Information about software that other students or supervisors have found beneficial.
  • Research Skills Program: Information from the program, including compulsory and optional information sessions and events.
  • Workshops: A series of notes on academic writing.
  • Help: Information about using eGRS.


This portal was created in a collaborative effort involving JCU and the Archer Project. The ARCHER project is funded by the Australian Commonwealth Government’s Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). ARCHER will develop and deploy production-ready software tools to assist researchers collect and store data, share it securely with collaborators, and access other tools which will allow annotations, electronic publication, replication and backup, communication and search tools.
